Dance Foundations 10, 11, 12

Each of these courses requires registration in 60 hours or more of dance with a studio, per course. This is approximately 2 hours a week in a 30 week dance season.  This may be in a single dance style or a combination of styles.  Below each category are links to an outline of the course assignments and the related curriculum by grade level.

Dance Foundations:  You will work to develop expression of yourself through movement in one or more styles of dance.  In addition, you will explore the world of dance and all it encompasses beyond the techniques involved – from preparing to dance safely, through understanding what makes studios unique and effective places to learn, to exploring ways to feed your creative muse while staying healthy and exploring what can be learned from watching other dancers perform. You will be working with a dance studio to develop your dance technique in your chosen style(s). There are separate versions of these courses designed specifically for figure skaters and artistic or rhythmic gymnasts.
