Theatre Company 10, 11, 12

Each of these courses requires students to be engaged in a combined 60 hours of performance and rehearsal, with a studio, dance company or theatre company. The focus of these courses is exploring and experiencing the world of putting on a production.  Not as much specialized acting technique is provided in these courses, as students will be working with a director and it is critical that they not be working against the director’s expectations or vision.

  • Theatre Company 10:  You will develop an actor’s workbook for your character in a production, or alternatively an understudy role.  You will track your progress from cold read through to your actual performance, and reflect upon what you learned throughout it.  In addition you will be encouraged to explore the various ways you can protect yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally, as you put yourself out there to share your art publicly. You will learn about the various roles in a theatre company, beyond that of actor.

  • Theatre Company 12:  You will develop an actor’s workbook for your character in a production, or alternatively an understudy role.  You will track your progress from cold read through to your actual performance, and reflect upon what you learned throughout it. In addition you will be encouraged to explore the various ways you can protect yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally, as you put yourself out there to share your art publicly. You will learn about the entrepreneurial nature of performing arts, and steps you can take to share your art and make an income.
